TECHNICAL SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE

A day to day schedule would consist of answering client calls, responding to emails to help resolve client issues, either with internet, phone service, changes to their phone system as well as configuring pbx for new clients, porting in phone numbers and following up on previous support tickets to ensure all issues are resolved.

Competencies / Personality Traits

  • Must be a self-starter, outside the box thinker

  • Able to work under pressure, keep organized and look for solutions

  • Answer support/general calls from end users and resolve their issue

  • Provision new phone systems, phones, port numbers

  • Manage remote installation of internet & voip service with on-site techs

  • Install/maintain/upgrade software for IP cameras

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with Asterisk, Freepbx, FreeSwitch

  • Prior work experience in handling Telecommunication & Internet Support is required

  • Prior work experience with Soft Switches / PBX is an advantage

  • Knowledgeable in Linux/Unix OS

  • Knowledge of Grandstream & IP phones & provisioning such as Polycom, Cisco, Yealink

  • Experience with AWS and GCP platform is preferred for managing VPS

  • Technical knowledge about VoIP, how it works, capabilities, limitations, call quality testing

  • Outside the box thinking and ability to resolve problems in a timely manner

  • Must be organized and ability to document how-to and common troubleshooting steps

  • Ability to work in a professional call center environment

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Toolset

  • Asterisk/Freepbx/Kamailio/FreeSwitch (VoIP soft switch)

  • Wireshark for VoIP troubleshooting

  • Basic software such as Logmein, Office, VPN, FTP, SSH

  • IP phone configuration & setup

  • CentOS and general Linux operation
